 +Research Activities and Interests:
 +
 +
 +Bioanalytical chemistry and bioinformatics.
 +
 +
+Tyler’s research supports the mass spectral libraries of the Mass Spectrometry Data Center Group. His current research is the integration of prior probability knowledge into mass spectral library searching algorithms and other computation-based projects.
 +
 +
+Traditionally, his research achieved the synthesis of computation with experimental design. On the computational side, past activities included the development of new statistical methods in the Laboratory for Chemometrics (University of Delaware) and the development of the widely-used NeuroPred software at the NIDA Center’s Bioinformatics & Systems Biology Core (University of Illinois). On the experimental side, his past work included the mass spectrometric imaging of tissue sections (Universities of Illinois & Liege), the high mass accuracy measurement of human antibody glycans in the context of HIV (Northwestern University), and the quantification of protein levels in human serum using QconCAT strategies (NIST Gaithersburg).
 +
 +
+Tyler is interested in a wide variety of projects that involve computation and experimental design. He is an author on at least 14 peer-reviewed publications.
